So Strung Out

Sometimes I feel I'm made out of string
That tightens and tightens in every way
Until my heart threatens to stop and give in
And nothing at all seems to lighten my day

I'm so strung out, is the thing that they say
but it feels my strings will soon break
Will you be the one to tie my loose ends?
repairing my tired mind for my sanity's sake

My strings used to be thicker, I held them tight
but as life grew harder they thinned and came out
Now the slightest upset and they vibe like a harp
My every thought with resentment and doubt

I'm so strung out, is the thing that they say
