Lady in Time

She came from future times unknown
to simple creatures such as we
to warn of things that lie ahead
so we can change things that will be

The doubters sneered at her ideas
and said she's certainly a fake
But many heard her quiet plea
and dreamed of things that they could make

They planned for cities in the trees
and rivers running fast and clear
machines that learned to mend not maim
and power drawn from the sun not fear

She walked among them, young and old
and told them just how they should proceed
she ensured change with every tale
and slowly made the world improve its deeds
