We saw them coming years ago
A tiny flicker far in space
That seemed to be directly aimed
at where we were in time and place

Perhaps they have come to see A I
a well respected thinker said
They may be coming by and by
To save us from ending up dead

Why yes, the aliens explained
When at last they did here land
We needed to be sure there was
Intelligence all made of sand

So we can then discuss your world
And all about our universe
But worry not we'll keep you safe
